SYDNEY

After landing in Sydney you’ll jump on an included airport transfer to our hostel where you’ll meet the rest of your travel crew. We have 2 days to explore the stunning harbour city with plenty of time to check out some iconic beaches and explore the best of Sydney before we start our East Coast adventure north!

BYRON BAY

We’ll spend 3 nights in the beautiful and famous surf town of Byron Bay. You’ll learn to surf with Aussie surfer dudes, relax and unwind with some morning yoga and experience a beautiful sunrise walk to Cape Byron Lighthouse.

SURFERS PARADISE

Experience the best of the iconic Surfers Paradise. Explore the city, party the night away and then work on your tan on one of the seemingly endless white sand beaches of this famous piece of Aussie coastline.

BRISBANE

Explore the highlights of Queensland’s capital, chill out at the only city man-made beach in Australia called ‘The Lagoon’ and then head up the beautiful Mount Coot-tha for a sunset BBQ overlooking Brisbane.

NOOSA & FRASER ISLAND

Discover the Aussie holiday favourite Noosa, famous for its laidback lifestyle and stunning beaches. We’ll kick back beach-side before heading to one of the absolute highlights on the East Coast of Australia - Fraser Island! You’ll get to drive your own 4x4’s around the biggest sand island in the world. Swim in the incredible turquoise waters of Lake McKenzie, float down the lazy river of Eli Creek, get 360 degree views from Indian Heads Lookout, chill in the bubbles of the Champagne Pools, learn about Aboriginal history, spot dingoes in the wild and then sleep beneath the stars in a private, exclusive campsite with your group. Arriving back in Noosa, we’ll explore the idyllic coastline on our way to the Instagram-worthy Fairy Pools.

AIRLIE BEACH & WHITSUNDAYS

Enjoy some free time at the beachfront lagoon in Airlie Beach before discovering another absolute must do on the East Coast - the stunning Whitsundays. Made up of 74 tropical islands, we’ll board our exclusive boat for the next 2 nights. Relax and sunbathe on the massive deck as we sail to the outer parts of the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkel with an abundance of marine life on the fringing reefs and try your hand at stand up paddle boarding. Later you’ll get to explore the amazing swirls of fine white sand on the world-famous Whitehaven Beach.

MAGNETIC ISLAND

Today we’ll jump on the ferry to a slice of tropical paradise - Magnetic Island. Over the next 2 days you’ll stay in beach front huts while you explore the best of this magical Island. Chill out in your ocean front hammock, hire a car and explore the hidden beaches and hike up the historic Forts Walk. If you’re lucky you’ll even spot wild koalas and rock wallabies.

MISSION BEACH

Time to relax in the chilled out beachfront town of Mission Beach, with your choice of any adrenaline pumping experience this tiny town is known for. If you‘ve ever thought of skydiving this is the place! Jump at 15,000ft and soak up views of both the Great Barrier Reef and rainforests before landing on the beach, or white water raft the Tully River rapids through a specular gorge surrounded by World Heritage Rainforest.

CAIRNS

Cairns is the ultimate backpacker adventure hub. Here you’ll tick off a massive bucket list item and experience a full day on the Great Barrier Reef in a very special way. You’ll get to help save one of the most delicate and beautiful natural eco-systems in the world when you become a marine biologist for the day. Assist a master reef guide in conservation and preservation of this World Heritage Site. You’ll also snorkel and sail the Great Barrier Reef and visit 2 unique outer reef locations. While in Cairns we’ll also explore the real Aussie oasis of the Atherton Tablelands. You’ll swim under epic waterfalls, slide down natural rock slides and swim in dormant volcano craters all while your experienced guide teaches you about this extraordinary place. Tonight we wrap things up with a farewell dinner and drinks to toast the incredible adventures we’ve had together.

CAIRNS

Your epic Aussie adventure comes to an end this morning. We'll get you ready to head out and secure the job of a lifetime in paradise! Plus if you need help with onward travel or working in Oz we are here to help for the rest of your time in Australia.

Frequently Asked Questions

A Working Holiday Visa allows you to stay in Australia for up to 12 months. You are legally allowed to work with a WHV for each employer for up to 6 months, or 12 months in two different locations. Once your visa has been approved you have 12 months to use it. You must be aged 18 – 30 to get a WHV. Or 18-35 if you’re from Canada, the Republic of Ireland or France.

A working holiday is one of the best ways to be able to travel and also experience being a local at the same time. It gives you the independence you’ve always wanted both socially and financially. You’ll be able to meet people from all around the world and discover new passions. There’s no need to stress as we can help you with every part.

It’s always a good time to go backpacking in Australia! It’s generally quite hot in most parts of the country for the majority of the year except for the southern half of Australia during winter (June, July & August). But because Australia is such a big country when it’s cold down south most people will head north and follow the sun!

By doing Oz East Coast + Work you’ll get unlimited help & support to find a job in Australia. You’ll also receive a lifetime membership to our Oz Jobs Program, which includes unlimited access to our network of employers all over Australia through our Oz Jobs App, where we post lots of great jobs every day!

Yes. Lots of people on our trips are travelling solo. But by doing our trip you’ll instantly be part of a group, so it’s a great way to meet others and make friends!

No worries. Unless you tell us otherwise we’ll automatically book you into our accommodation from the day you arrive, and you can pre-pay for this before you leave. If you’re staying at our accommodation we will provide an airport transfer even if you arrive early.

You should have sufficient funds to support your trip. If you’re on a WHV or have a return ticket out of Australia, then it’s unlikely you’ll be asked to show evidence of your funds. If you’re on a Tourist Visa or only have a one-way ticket then you might be asked to show a bank statement when you land in Australia, so it’s a good idea to have at least $4,000 AUD.

If you’re on a WHV then you will open a local bank with Wise. You will be able to be paid like a local in Australia as well as pay for things and withdraw cash at ATM’s. You can also use it with Google or Apple Pay. If you transfer your money from home into Australian dollars you can avoid paying foreign exchange fees when you use the card.

Your destination or airline may have COVID-19 vaccination or testing requirements to enter. It is your responsibility to adhere to these requirements to ensure your arrival is not impacted and you can join your tour without issue.
