Make a Difference

We understand that travel is a privilege, so we seek to create a positive impact in every destination we visit. Established in 2017, Small Change is our socially conscious initiative that helps us do just that.

PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT

Protecting and preserving the beautiful destinations and natural beauty we visit is one of our highest priorities. As well as promoting and practicing sustainable travel, we conduct regular eco-audits on all our trips and suppliers to ensure we’re consistently minimising our impact on the natural environment.

SUPPORTING LOCAL COMMUNITIES

We ensure that every trip we run has a direct and positive impact on the local communities we visit. This means that your money is being used to support the local economy, and going direct to those who need it most. Every one of our trips includes a variety of small changes that you’ll get to experience first hand.

CULTURAL EXCHANGE & EDUCATION

As opposed to being a cultural observer, our trips are designed to help you understand and respect local cultures, traditions and ways of life. Through sharing knowledge and understanding, we ensure that your travels are mutually beneficial for both you, and those you are visiting.

ANIMAL WELFARE

We’ve seen first hand how tourism can contribute to the abuse and mistreatment of animals, and it devastates us. To help end this, we support and visit a number of local animal welfare groups, we ensure no animal is ever hurt or negatively impacted by our activities, and we’ve even adopted a number of rescue animals at the properties we own.

10 TREES

We'll plant 10 trees on your behalf when you make a booking!

We've partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects who hire local villagers to plant trees in Nepal, Haiti, Indonesia & more. The initiative is helping replant forests, restore animal habitats and reduce poverty and INTRO Travel are proud to support them with your help.

CLEARING LAND MINES WITH A HERO RAT

Did you know, there are still 2 - 6 million unexploded bomb remnants in rural Siem Reap alone? The dangers of these are unfathomable, which is why we work closely with APOPO, a Siem Reap based non-government organisation that trains rats to detect bombs that can then be safely detonated. We’ve even adopted Magawa the super rat, who will help save thousands of lives through his important work.

REDUCING PLASTIC WASTE

To help reduce single use plastics and promote reusable alternatives, we’ve installed refillable water stations at nearly all of our overnight stops, and at many of our activity locations. We advise all our travellers to bring a reusable water bottle when they travel, but for those that don’t we also sell INTRO branded bottles on all our trips.

SIEM REAP VILLAGES

Working directly with the local village chiefs of the rural villages of Siem Reap, Cambodia, through both our contributions and the generosity of our travellers, we’ve helped to provide necessary supplies for many school children. In this impoverished area many families cannot afford school uniforms or basic school equipment, but we’re working hard to change this.
