KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast we’ll be on our way to Kruger National Park, hopefully getting our first glimpses at wildlife as we head to our unique huts in a secluded corner of the park. Tonight we put our skills to the test, assisting the chefs in preparing a traditional South African braai (BBQ dinner), a hearty feast perfect to get us ready for tomorrow’s safari!
KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Today it’s time to tick off that bucket list with an open vehicle game drive through Kruger National Park! Have your camera ready whilst looking out for prides of lions, herds of elephants, solitary leopards, rhinos and masses of buffalo, all with experienced guides who'll make sure we have the best experience possible. Tonight our guide will show us how to make traditional stork brood (stick bread) to enjoy with another BBQ over the fire before we spend the night gazing up at an infinite, starry sky,
HLANE NATIONAL PARK
The tiny landlocked nation of Eswatini awaits as we cross the border to enter Hlane Royal National Park, a protected area teeming with wildlife and diverse Swazi ecosystems. This afternoon we’ll spot more of Africa’s famous wildlife on a sunset game drive. Tonight we’ll head out for Dinner and enjoy a chilled evening.
ZULULAND
Today we re-enter South Africa and continue south towards Pongolapoort Nature Reserve, taking in the breathtaking views. After checking in to camp we’ll visit a local village to discover the region’s traditional way of life. We’ll then watch the sun set over the mighty Lake Jozini whilst one of the friendly locals tells us stories around the campfire with an authentic Zulu meal.

Today we head to the coast, checking in to our beach lodge. This afternoon we'll chill on the beach or relax by the pool. Tonight we’ll be shown how to make Bunny Chow, a South African fast food dish that’s essentially a loaf of bread filled with curry. A must try!
CAPE TOWN
We’re off early this morning to catch our short flight to Cape Town. This afternoon we rise to the heavens as we summit the iconic Table Mountain (weather permitting). Crisp air accompanies dramatic scenic views, earning Table Mountain its title as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, and we'll soak up a stunning sunset over the majestic natural amphitheatre. This evening we’ll make our way to the V&A Water-front to stroll, shop, visit a brewery and take in the views.
CAPE TOWN
Today we’re off on a walking tour of Bo-Kaap, a neighbourhood known for its brightly coloured houses, the oldest mosque in South Africa, and spicy Cape Malay cuisine. We'll wander past other icons including the Houses of Parliament, The Castle and Cape Town Stadium. Later we’ll stroll Sea Point Promenade to soak up the fresh air and crashing waves. We’ll end the evening sipping cocktails at the waterfront whilst watching the sun sink below the horizon, ending another brilliant day in Africa.

Next we’ll discover Chapman’s Peak and the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, then after lunch we'll hang out with a colony of wild African Penguins on Boulders Beach. Tonight we’ll have our farewell dinner and drinks in a cool funky restaurant!
CAPE TOWN
Time to bid farewell as our 12 day African adventure comes to an end. You can either check out and journey home, or continue your travels in Africa. If you need any assistance planning onward travel, we’re more than happy to help!
Making a positive difference to the amazing destinations we travel is at the core of what we do. Small Change is our own socially conscious initiative aimed at making the world that little bit better place to explore!
Check out the #SmallChange you'll be part of while doing this tour. Click hereYes. Lots of people on our trips are travelling solo. But by doing our trip you’ll instantly be part of a group, so it’s a great way to meet others and make friends! Most of our accommodation is twin or triple share, so we will put you in a room with someone of the same gender.
You can start chatting to people in your group and other travellers before you leave. Just go to our Facebook page and join the South Africa group.
Travel insurance is compulsory for all our trips. Click here to organise a quote and policy for yourself.
Just let us know who you’re travelling with after you’ve booked and your relationship to them, and we’ll organise appropriate room shares for you. Our baooking system takes one booking at a time, so if you’re booking for multiple people just complete a separate booking for each person. It’s super quick and easy!
No worries. Unless you tell us otherwise we’ll automatically book you into our accommodation from the day you arrive, and then you can just pay for your extra nights on arrival. If you’re staying at our accommodation we will provide a personal airport pick up even if you arrive early.
The great thing about South Africa is that it’s a predominately sunny country, and year round travel is possible thanks to its vast size and diverse range of attractions. Summer weather lasts from October to April, and winter brings cooler weather and fewer crowds from May to September.
All your activities, accommodation, transport and some meals are included, so you’ll just need money for any extra meals, drinks, shopping and any onward travel. We recommend you bring at least £400 / $700 spending money.
Some accommodations we stay at have free Wi-Fi available. The network quality is often lower than you’re used to but you can generally connect and do basic stuff.
We always recommend travelling with a backpack and packing light! 10-20kgs of stuff should be plenty. It’s generally quite hot so dragging around a huge suitcase is not much fun. There is luggage storage at the airport or at some accommodations if needed.
Your destination or airline may have COVID-19 vaccination or testing requirements to enter. It is your responsibility to adhere to these requirements to ensure your arrival is not impacted and you can join your tour without issue.
