What should I expect from this trip?

You'll spend 2 nights in a modern, spacious Split hostel with mixed dorm rooms (up to 20 people, each bed with its own privacy curtain), and 7 nights on a premium boat - twin/double share rooms with A/C and ensuite bathrooms, plus plenty of sundecks for relaxing. Travel days are effortless: we sail each morning while you lounge, play games, and get to know the group, docking at each destination around 3pm. Included kayaking and cycling require average fitness, and swimming ability is strongly recommended to get the most out of this tour - while the Adriatic is calm, it may not suit those who regularly suffer from seasickness.

What's included & spending money

What's included in the price? All accommodation, all activities on the itinerary, all transport between destinations, some meals, and your group leader for the full duration of your trip. No local payments, no surprise costs on the ground.

What's not included? Flights, airport transfer, travel insurance, and personal spending money aren't included.

How much spending money will I need? Because everything on the itinerary is already covered, your spending money goes a lot further than you'd think. For this tour, most travellers budget around £800 / $1600 AUD / $1050 USD / €930 for extra meals, drinks, shopping and any onward travel.

What's the best way to manage money on tour? A Wise travel card is one of the easiest options. It lets you spend in Euros without getting hit by foreign exchange fees from your bank. You can get a Wise travel card here. Worth noting: if you're travelling from the US, your Wise account may not work in all destinations, so check before you rely on it.

Do I need a SIM card for Croatia? You'll actually receive a free 1GB eSIM via INTRO's partners at Hubby eSIM, so you'll have mobile data sorted from the start. You'll get all the details in your booking confirmation email.

Most people on this trip travel solo. You won't have to wait around for anyone and you'll leave yourself wide open to meeting people you actually want to travel with. Most people arrive not knowing a soul and leave with a group chat that's still going months later.

When you’re ready to book you can book for up to 4 people at once on our website. Otherwise once you've booked, just let us know who you're travelling with and we'll keep you together. Travelling as a couple? Drop us a note so we can make sure you've got the right bed configuration.

What are the groups like on this trip?

Most Croatia Sail Adventure groups run between 10 and 20 people, with a maximum of 25. Everyone is aged 18 to 40s and comes from all over the world. The mix is different every trip but the one thing everyone has in common is they're there to make the most of it. If you're up for new experiences and meeting people from all walks of life, you'll fit right in.

How do I get in touch with my group and group leader before the trip?

You'll receive a welcome email from your group leader around two weeks before departure. Before that, you can connect with fellow travellers in the INTRO Travel Community Facebook group. It's a good way to put some faces to names before you land.

What if something happens on tour?

If something unexpected happens while you're on tour, you're not on your own. Your group leader is trained to handle situations on the ground and will be your first point of contact for anything that comes up. Behind them, our operations and support teams are available 24/7, so there's always someone to reach.

We've been running group tours around the world for over 20 years, have comprehensive safety management procedures and our teams know how to move quickly when they need to. Whether it's a medical situation, a change of plan, or something that just needs sorting, we handle it. You'll also have compulsory travel insurance in place before you travel, which means you're covered for the things that are outside anyone's control.

In short: something unexpected can happen anywhere in the world. When it does on an INTRO trip, you've got a trained leader beside you and an experienced team behind you.

Travel insurance

Do I need travel insurance for this trip?

Yes, travel insurance is compulsory for all INTRO tours. You'll need to show proof of your policy to your group leader when you arrive on day one, either on your phone or printed. You can get a quote and purchase your travel insurance here.

Do I need a visa?

Visa requirements depend on your nationality and can change, so it's worth checking well in advance. INTRO can't apply for your visa, so head to the relevant embassy or consulate website to confirm what you need. There's also information in the INTRO Travel App to help you get sorted.

Flights & arrival information

Where should I fly in and out of and when? The trip starts in Split, so fly into Split Airport (SPU). Most people arrive on the actual start date. There are no activities on day one, but the group meets for a welcome dinner in the evening, so arriving earlier in the day gives you time to settle in. Want to arrive a day or two early and explore Split on your own first? Go for it.

The trip finishes in Split on day 10. You can depart at any time on the final day, but we recommend allowing plenty of time to reach the airport if you're flying out the same day. Let your group leader know your flight details on day one and they'll make sure you're sorted.

Are flights included in the price? International flights aren't included and will need to be booked separately. Any transport included as part of the itinerary is covered. You can get a quote for your international flights here if you need help sorting it.

How are rooms assigned on this trip?

If you're travelling with someone, just let us know and we'll keep you together. Book as a group and we'll sort it automatically. Solo travellers are always placed with someone of the same gender in twin rooms. In multi-share rooms we do our best to keep it the same gender too, though occasionally it may be mixed.

Can I book extra nights before or after the trip?

Yes to both. If you're arriving early, log into the Manage My Booking area, add the nights you need, and pay for them there. For post-trip accommodation, just let your group leader know on day one and they'll take care of it.

Are private rooms available?

On most of our tours private rooms are available in the Tour Add Ons during checkout, or by request. This is a private twin/double room for all or most of the nights of your tour.

How do I manage my booking?

Log into the Manage My Booking area on our website to add your arrival details, book extra nights before your trip, and access your booking information. If you need to make any other changes or have questions about your booking, our reservations team are always happy to help.

What happens when the trip ends?

The support doesn't stop when your trip ends. Your group leader will make sure you know exactly where you're heading next and can help book whatever you need, whether that's transport, accommodation, or another trip. If anything comes up after you've gone your separate ways, the INTRO team is available 24/7.

Packing & luggage

Backpack or a suitcase?

It’s completely up to you! You’ll be fine travelling with either a suitcase or a backpack. A backpack or holdall-style bag can be a bit easier to carry, especially when moving between locations. However, a suitcase will be absolutely fine to bring, and lots of our travellers use them!

What should I pack?

Less than you think, and keep it under 20kg. You're moving between destinations and responsible for your own bags throughout, so pack smart. Some of our destinations have laundry stops along the way so no need to prepare for every scenario. The INTRO Travel App has a full packing checklist to help you nail it before you go.
