Since 2019 we've partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects to plant 10 trees for every booking. However, we wanted to go even further and achieve true sustainability, so in late 2023 we began a new partnership with Path Net Zero to accurately measure our tours emissions, and Veritree to plant trees to offset those emissions. We are now very proud to say that every INTRO tour is 100% carbon neutral.

To help reduce single use plastics and promote reusable alternatives, we've installed refillable water stations at nearly all of our overnight stops, and at many of our activity locations. We advise all our travellers to bring a reusable water bottle when they travel, but for those that don't we also sell INTRO branded bottles on all our trips.

Beach cleanups are a regular occurrence on INTRO trips. Just like you, we want to protect our oceans, waterways and marine life, so you’ll often find us and our awesome travellers collecting rubbish as we go. As well as our impromptu cleans, we’ve also partnered with organisations like Trash Hero in Thailand and Gili Eco Trust in Indonesia to further promote the message.

Did you know there are still around 5 million unexploded bomb remnants in rural Siem Reap alone? The dangers of these are unfathomable, which is why we work closely with APOPO, a Siem Reap based non-government organisation that trains rats to detect bombs that can then be safely detonated. We've adopted Ronin the HeroRat who will help save thousands of lives through his important work.

Based in Midigama, our Sri Lanka Experience trip visits a small ‘Pirivena’ or Buddhist Monk School, with all funds from the experience going towards the maintenance and development of the school. In addition, our travellers also help the young monks with their English language practice, and in turn have the chance to learn about life as a student monk.

Our groups experience a once in a lifetime opportunity when visiting a Zulu community school during South Africa Adventure. Our travellers help the locals plant trees and get to enjoy a friendly football match with the school kids. We also make donations to assist in improving the school facilities, as well as providing supplies such as stationary, food and sports equipment.

From the moment we started visiting Lovina, a beautiful and rural area in Northern Bali, we knew we wanted to support the local community in some way. Then, as if by magic, we met Gede, who lives with his family on a small farm and coffee plantation. Fast forward to today, where all our groups visiting Lovina have the chance to visit Gede, learn about the traditional art of basket weaving, and ask questions about local life.

Travellers on our Thai Experience trip have the chance to support the development of the Rungfah Farm Stay in Khao Sok National Park. The brain child of our enigmatic friend Mr You, the back-to-basics sustainable farm promotes eco friendly living, including using self produced and eco friendly fertiliser. Mr You built his homestay by hand and uses solar power to generate energy, with all funds paid to him being used to help support his young family, as well as the upkeep of the farm.

Mr Op and his family from the Mekong Delta in Vietnam started with humble beginnings and only a couple of bungalows on a small island on the Delta. After 2 years of support from our groups visiting and experiencing how the locals really live there, he’s been able to create enough bungalows for our groups to stay with him and his family on this tiny island on the Delta.

Working directly with the local village chiefs of the rural villages of Siem Reap in Cambodia. Through both our contributions and the generosity of our travellers, we've helped provide necessary supplies for many school children. In this impoverished area many families cannot afford school uniforms or basic school equipment, but we're working hard to change this.

Our local guides / legends are the backbone of our operations and a very special part of the INTRO family. Several times a year we offer the opportunity for one or more of our local guides to travel to another one of our destinations or choose an experience they may not normally get to do, courtesy of and with love from us.
