MELBOURNE
G’day and welcome to Australia! Touching down in bustling Melbourne, we’ll meet you at the airport and take you to our hostel in the heart of the city. This evening you’ll meet up with the rest of your travel crew and get excited for all the adventures to come in the Land Down Under.
MELBOURNE
First up today we’ll get oriented with a walking tour of the city. Sydney’s low-key neighbour, ‘Melbs’ is the cultural capital of Australia known for its diversity, creative scene, open green spaces, chic neighbourhoods, and impeccable food and coffee culture. Tonight it’s time to see what Melbourne has to offer after dark! Spoiler alert: from grungy dens to glitzy rooftops, there’s something for every reveller.
MELBOURNE
This morning we’re travelling back in time as we gain a fascinating insight into the rich history and traditions of Australia’s First Nations Peoples. We’ll then head down to the famous St Kilda to explore and get some beach time, making the most of the sunshine before an arvo sesh at the Espy.
QUEENSCLIFF
Leaving the city, we’re off to explore Southern Australia’s natural beauty as we road trip one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline in the world - The Great Ocean Road. From the iconic 12 Apostles to ancient rainforests teeming with life, we’ll be awe-struck by nature as we drive from landmark to landmark. Wind in our hair, sand in our toes, we could get used to this Aussie lifestyle.
MELBOURNE
This morning we’ll discover the Mornington Peninsula, a coastal region that meshes European village vibes with laid-back Aussie charm. After a dose of the relaxed alfresco lifestyle, get ready to meet some of Australia’s favourite furry locals at Phillip Island. We’ll walk through the canopy at a Koala Reserve to spot these adorable creatures in their natural habitat, then head down to the beach at sunset to witness none other than the Penguin Parade. Home to the largest Little Penguin colony in the world, we’ll watch these little legends waddle from the ocean to their burrows whilst wondering how anything on earth could possibly be this cute.
MELBOURNE
Today our team of friendly pros are at your disposal to help organise onward travel for your adventures in Australia and beyond! This evening, we’ll head up to the highest viewing platform in Australia - the Eureka Skydeck, before hitting up Melbourne’s best party spots.

Making a positive difference to the amazing destinations we travel is at the core of what we do. Small Change is our own socially conscious initiative aimed at making the world that little bit better place to explore!

It’s always a good time to go backpacking in Australia! It’s generally quite hot in most parts of the country for the majority of the year except for the southern half of Australia during winter (June, July & August). But because Australia is such a big country when it’s cold down south most people will head north and follow the sun!
All accommodations we stay at have free Wi-Fi available. Australia’s Wi-Fi network is usually quite good.
We always recommend travelling with a backpack and packing light! 15-20kgs of stuff should be plenty. Australia is a BIG country so dragging around a huge suitcase is not much fun.
If you’re on a WHV then we’ll open up a local bank account for you. So we recommend transferring your money into your new Aussie bank account so you can avoid international bank fees. Transferwise is the easiest and quickest way to transfer money. There are ATM’s available throughout Australia so it’s easy to get access to cash and most places accept credit card.
Just let us know who you’re travelling with after you’ve booked and your relationship to them, and we’ll organise appropriate room shares for you. Our booking system takes one booking at a time, so if you’re booking for multiple people just complete a separate booking for each person. It’s super quick and easy!
No worries. Unless you tell us otherwise we’ll automatically book you into our accommodation from the day you arrive, and then you can just pay for your extra nights on arrival. If you’re staying at our accommodation we will provide a personal airport pick up even if you arrive early.
Your destination or airline may have COVID-19 vaccination or testing requirements to enter. It is your responsibility to adhere to these requirements to ensure your arrival is not impacted and you can join your tour without issue.
