Itinerary

MELBOURNE

G’day and welcome to Australia! Touching down in bustling Melbourne, we’ll meet you at the airport and take you to our hostel in the heart of the city. This evening you’ll meet up with the rest of your travel crew and get excited for all the adventures to come in the Land Down Under.

MELBOURNE

First up today we’ll organise all your essentials, such as your bank account and SIM card, to seamlessly ease you into Aussie life. Once done with the life admin we’ll get oriented with a walking tour of the city. Sydney’s low-key neighbour, ‘Melbs’ is the cultural capital of Australia known for its diversity, creative scene, open green spaces, chic neighbourhoods, and impeccable food and coffee culture. Tonight it’s time to see what Melbourne has to offer after dark! Spoiler alert: from grungy dens to glitzy rooftops, there’s something for every reveller.

MELBOURNE

This morning we’re travelling back in time as we gain a fascinating insight into the rich history and traditions of Australia’s First Nations Peoples. We’ll then head down to the famous St Kilda to explore and get some beach time, making the most of the sunshine before an arvo sesh at the Espy.

MELBOURNE

This morning we’ll take some time to get your wanderlust pumping by giving you all the travel info you’ll need to plan your adventures around Australia, New Zealand, Asia and beyond. We’ll then board the iconic Sea Shepherd eco-warrior boat for a very unique and special experience, not only learning about but actively contributing too their fight to save our oceans. Complete with wild food and exotic drinks this will be an awesome and fun day like no other, and definitely one to remember!

QUEENSCLIFF

Leaving the city, we’ll road trip one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline in the world - The Great Ocean Road. From the iconic 12 Apostles to ancient rainforests teeming with life, we’ll be awe-struck by nature as we drive from landmark to landmark. We could get used to this lifestyle!

MELBOURNE

This morning we’ll discover the Mornington Peninsula, a coastal region that meshes European village vibes with laid-back Aussie charm. After a relaxed morning, we’ll head to Phillip Island to meet some of Oz’s furry locals. We’ll walk through the canopy at a Koala Reserve then head down to the beach for sunset to witness the Penguin Parade. Home to the largest Little Penguin colony in the world, we’ll watch these little legends waddle from the ocean to their burrows.

MELBOURNE

Today our team of friendly pros are at your disposal to help organise onward travel for your adventures in Australia and beyond! This evening, we’ll head up to the highest viewing platform in Australia - the Eureka Skydeck, before hitting up Melbourne’s best party spots.

MELBOURNE

Securing you a paid job in Australia is number one on the agenda today. Our team will make sure you’ve got everything sorted for living and working in Australia, and we’ll get you registered with our exclusive Oz Jobs program. Dress sharp tonight, it’s our last dinner together!

MELBOURNE

Your unforgettable 9 day adventure comes to an end today, but your time in Australia is only just beginning. You’ll now be prepped and ready for the next leg alongside the new friends you’ve made, and we’ll be there for support and advice every step of the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Lots of people on our trips are travelling solo. But by doing our trip you’ll instantly be part of a group, so it’s a great way to meet others and make friends!

You can start chatting to people in your group and other travellers before you leave. Just go to our Facebook page, click on ‘Groups’ and choose your country.

It’s always a good time to go backpacking in Australia! It’s generally quite hot in most parts of the country for the majority of the year except for the southern half of Australia during winter (June, July & August). But because Australia is such a big country when it’s cold down south most people will head north and follow the sun!

We always recommend travelling with a backpack and packing light! 15-20kgs of stuff should be plenty. Australia is a BIG country so dragging around a huge suitcase is not much fun.

A Working Holiday Visa allows you to stay in Australia for up to 12 months. You are legally allowed to work with a WHV for each employer for up to 6 months, or 12 months in two different locations. Once your visa has been approved you have 12 months to use it. You must be aged 18 – 30 to get a WHV. Or 18-35 if you’re from Canada or the Republic of Ireland. For more information on WHV, click here.

You should have sufficient funds to support your trip. If you’re on a WHV or have a return ticket out of Australia, then it’s unlikely you’ll be asked to show evidence of your funds. If you’re on a Tourist Visa or only have a one-way ticket then you might be asked to show a bank statement when you land in Australia, so it’s a good idea to have at least $3,000 AUD.

If you’re on a WHV then we’ll open up a local bank account for you. So we recommend transferring your money into your new Aussie bank account so you can avoid international bank fees. There are ATM’s available throughout Australia so it’s easy to get access to cash and most places accept credit card.

By doing Oz Intro you’ll get unlimited help & support to find a job in Australia. Not just during Oz Intro but for the entire time you’re in Oz. You’ll also receive a lifetime membership to our Oz Jobs Program, which includes unlimited access to our network of employers all over Australia through our INTRO Jobs App, where we post lots of great jobs every day! If you’d like to know more information about working and living in Australia, please click here.

Your destination or airline may have COVID-19 vaccination or testing requirements to enter. It is your responsibility to adhere to these requirements to ensure your arrival is not impacted and you can join your tour without issue.
